It was such a fun food tour. It was my first time doing this and I enjoyed
every minute of it. Dante is an awesome tour guide! He definitely loves
what he’s doing! Greenwich is a beautiful place, a must-see for anyone
visiting New York! I recommend this food tour to anyone who likes to
food-trip! Greenwich has so many restaurants to choose from and Dante did a
good job of taking us to some of their best ones!
A “must do” while visiting NYC! Dante was fantastic - engaging,
knowledgeable, fun. We felt like we were walking around with a true local.
Food we sampled was delicious and we were stuffed at the end. While walking
around later, we saw other tours and guides - none were as good as Dante!
Amazing food was expected (Expectations were exceeded! Best pizza I've ever
had), but the real highlight of the tour was Dante, the tour guide. He was
incredibly warm and very witty. He dropped historical knowledge as we
walked the streets (the narrowest building in NYC was awesome), in addition
to stories and information about the food places (the proper way to cook a
bagel, 40 dipping sauces for french fries!!)
Dante also made sure that the group wasn't just a bunch of strangers,
prompting interaction between the 10 other people (having a smaller sized
group also was a plus). We made great bonds with a couple from Australia, a
mother and her grown son, and some visiting Canadians.
My girlfriend demands that we take Nice Guy's food tour of the Lower East
Side the next time we visit NYC, and I couldn't be happier about that!
Nice guy, nice tour! My family and I had a wonderful time with Dante in the
Lower East Side. The food was delicious, there was plenty of it, and we had
time to buy some of our own to take home if we wanted (but it was not
required). The tour was an easy walk, Dante was funny and great company -
he made everybody feel welcome and took great care of us; you can tell he
loves his job!
I've taken every tour Dante does, more than once in some cases, and have
thoroughly enjoyed each one. Dante is different from most guides, as he
doesn't treat you as a customer. Instead, each tour feels as though your
friend is showing you around a neighborhood and taking you to the best
places to grab a bite. He's knowledgable, friendly, and funny, and
everywhere you go, he's greeted as an honored guest and his group is, too.
Our expectations were high because of the great reviews, but somehow Dante
managed to exceed them. This tour was the perfect balance of food and local
history, and Dante's easygoing personality loosened everyone up. I felt
like we were all friends by the end of it. Can't recommend highly enough.
This was my second tour with Dante --- so that says a lot! In our group we had ages 12 to 82. Dante learned everyone's names, kept a great pace, built rapport with the group, and made the tour so much fun! The pastrami at Katz's deli was sublime. We all had our favorite stop, but each of us enjoyed the trip completely! Dante is the Nice Guy! Everywhere we went, people in the shops greeted Dante like he was their old friend. By a few minutes into your tour, you will feel like you are old friends, too.
This was a wonderful--and delicious--way to spend a few hours in NYC! Dante, our guide, is a native who really knows the Lower East Side, both the cuisine and the history. So, the tour is informative, fun, and filling. We visited 7 spots, pre-arranged by Dante, and sampled knishes, pastrami, bagels, etc. Some of the places are iconic New York spots, like Katz. Others were new to us, but all were delicious and fun. Our guide shared the history of the foods, and his easy-going manner had everyone on the tour (capped at 12 people) chatting and visiting as we walked and ate. I am looking forward to trying his other tour next time I visit NYC!
Just awesome. Dante took my group of 50 students and 5 chaperones out on an awesome tour of Greenwich Village. It was one of the highlights of the trip and was the bar other tours were compared to for our group. In fact, myself and the other chaperones agreed we might have to do this tour last next time because it made it hard to enjoy other tours as much. Dante and his crew had the right personality, patience and humor to entertain and inform my large group teenagers for the three hours of the tour. The insight and wit they provided along with their appreciation for the history of New York and its food made it truly memorable. Students felt such a connection many asked for photos with him at the end of the tour. If you are going to New York you MUST sign up for this tour with Dante, you will not be disappointed. I plan on using him even with family visits to New York. No matter the size, the make up of the group, the tour will be fantastic.
It was one of the best tours I’ve ever done! Our flight was delayed and Dante was the best at being able to accommodate us the next day and kept in constant communication regarding this! He was very knowledgeable about the history of the area as well as the food we ate which was beyond wonderful. Pretty sure we would have never stopped in to most of the restaurants Dante had us go to and now we know we will return to many of these establishments next time we are in NYC! I highly recommend this tour on your next visit to the city!!
Dante was early to the meeting spot introducing himself and getting to know our names. There were 11 on our tour and he never forgot our names! Each spot we stopped we got a history lesson and a taste of their delicious specialty items. Although we enjoyed every stop the artichoke pizza was definitely the best of everything! You do not leave hungry from this tour, that is for sure! There were options to buy things if you wanted to, places we walked and stopped for a photo opportunities including the Friends building, And opportunities to purchase beer, wine and other drinks if you wanted to. Dante provided water bottles for everybody. John, Dantes PR guy, was just as entertaining and fun along the way. By the end of the tour these guys felt like friends to us. Thoroughly enjoyable and we will be back!!
Loved the combo of eating, walking and hearing stories of The Village. Come prepared to have a full stomach, even though we just sampled food at each stop, it added up to a lot! Great way to see a neighbourhood.
